The School of Music, established in 1997 as a ministry of Second Baptist Church, offers private music lessons for both children and adults (beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level instruction). Students can learn various instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, drums/percussion, strings, woodwinds, and brass. The faculty comprises some of the area's top Christian musicians, dedicated to nurturing both the musical and spiritual growth of their students. Spring 2026 Structure and Fees
The School of Music offers a Spring semester with 14 lessons over 18 weeks to allow for
student or teacher absences.
Spring registrations have an administrative fee of $10:
Spring (January 12 – May 14): 14 Lessons
30-minute lessons: $420 (also payable 2 x $210 or 4 x $105)
45-minute lessons: $630 (also payable 2 x $315 or 4 x $157.50 )
60-minute lessons: $840 (also payable 2 x $420 or 4 x $210)
Tuition is due each semester and is payable online at the "Pay Tuition" button below by credit card, or you may drop off a check at the

Have you ever wanted to perform in an ensemble focusing on "pop"ular music? Join Second School of Music's Pop this Spring! Instruments in this ensemble includes: acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, drumset, keyboards, and vocals.
- Excellent instruction from Keaton Byrd (Mercer University's Townsend School of Music graduate)
- Popular literature including but not limited to: The Beatles, Queen, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Paramore, ABBA, etc.
