SECOND SENIORS

Come grow with us.

“They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green, to declare:
‘The Lord is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.'” Psalm 92:14-15

We exist first and foremost to glorify God and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to equip the Saints, edify the body of Christ, and offer various opportunities for our seniors to do the work of the ministry. Our desire is to disciple, prepare, and then provide places of service so that they may know experientially what God has called them to do by obeying Him through ministering to others.

Get Involved

Our Senior Adult Ministry (55+) is ACTIVE and ALIVE with numerous ways of serving and getting involved!

Fellowship Activities
  • Monthly Luncheons | On the 2nd Thursday of every month (Except June & July), the senior adults meet across the street in the YAC (Youth Activities Center) for lunch, fellowship, and fun activities. Cost is $5 per person.
  • Day Trips | Usually on the 4th Thursday of the month, the senior adults will take a trip somewhere within 3 hours of Warner Robins such as Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, or anywhere in between.
  • Spring & Fall Trip | In the spring and the fall seasons, the senior adults take a trip outside the state of Georgia. The trip could be to a Christian conference or retreat, but it could also be a recreational trip to a beach, cruise, or historical site.
  • Life Groups | Every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, we have various Life Groups (Couples, Men's & Women's) where we dig into God’s Word and share life together.

Serving Opportunities
  • Senior Adult Choir | Do you love Jesus and like to sing? If the answer is “yes,” then those are the only two requirements to be part of the Senior Adult Choir. No prior experience is required. The purpose for this choir is to sing in nursing homes and senior adult living facilities. We rehearse every Thursday at 10:00 AM in the choir room EXCEPT for when we go on a day trip or when we have the Senior Adult Luncheon. For that day, we will rehearse right after lunch in the YAC.
  • Helping Hands (Men) | The goal of this ministry is to assist needy active senior adult members of Second Baptist Church.
    • Lawn mowing and yard care is provided for those needy senior adults and family members whose loved ones are deployed, and who have no one else to provide this service.
    • Repair or replace basic carpentry issues in the houses or make wheelchair ramps for our senior adults who lack adequate resources or have family members who cannot do the work.
    • A Pallbearer Committee is available for church members upon request.
  • Helping Hearts (Women) | In this ministry, we have multiple teams who visit, call, send cards, and pray for our seniors who are in nursing homes, personal care homes, or who are unable to physically attend services.
