Trusting God When Times Get Tough

Aug 30, 2026    Jim Perdue

This week, Pastor Jim walks us through 2 Samuel 16–18, where David continues to face the consequences of Absalom’s rebellion. As David is cursed, betrayed, and forced to prepare for battle against his own son, he continues to trust God through the uncertainty. The conflict eventually ends with Absalom’s death, leaving David heartbroken despite the victory. These chapters remind us that sin brings painful consequences, but God remains sovereign even in the middle of betrayal, loss, and circumstances we cannot control.
