Be Careful What You Ask For

Mar 8, 2026    Jim Perdue

This week, Pastor Jim walks us through 1 Samuel 8, where the people of Israel ask for a king so they can be like the nations around them. Even though this request grieved Samuel, God allowed it and warned the people about the cost of putting their trust in human leadership. The chapter reveals how easy it is for God’s people to trade His leadership for something that feels more familiar or visible. It challenges us to examine our own hearts and remember that God alone is the King we truly need.
